My Story
I arrived in Polk County in February 2023 with my wife, our three kids, and even our dog. I was 43, working remotely in tech, had good credit, and one question that kept me up at night: What are you going to do for your family?
I loved my life in Puerto Rico — the island gave me everything: my education, my values, my people. But I felt my family needed more options than I could give them from there. My wife was spending more time on errands and red tape than enjoying life, and I wanted to focus my energy on growing, not navigating processes that drained my time. It was about seeking more, not running from anything.
I got on a plane, explored Central Florida, and discovered Winter Haven — quiet, with hospitals nearby, none of Orlando's chaos, and access to everything. With the help of a real estate agent who truly guided me, I closed on my new home in record time.
Today my kids speak fluent English, my wife handles errands in minutes instead of days, and this jibarito raised between Cidra and Aguas Buenas with a degree in electrical engineering and over 14 years in tech is ready to serve his community.
